My Journey Back to Photography Blogging

When I started my journey as a professional photographer the idea sort of fell into my lap. It was inevitable that shooting a camera would be something that was meant for me. In the integration process I was heavily into addiction and sometimes I believe that this is what gave me hope in life. In my ealy 20’s, I moved from Colorado to California in the spring of 2009 to pursue a career and attend College for Visual Journalism. At the time, blogs were a popular way to get your photographs out there. Eventually it brought a small community for fellow shooters to my work. Sometime in 2016 I fell out of the idea of posting my journey. I adapted to the instagram way of things being only visual instead of bringing folks along for the ride of why I shot most of my photos. It pretty much died around 2015 when my mother passed away. Maybe the idea of expressing myself to any capacity was a daunting task. Along with presenting the photos I’ve shot of the past few years, photography was just a means to display that I can photograph and compose a shot. I dipped into commercial and corporate gigs over the years that made the visual arts a way to pay the bills. I have decided to start blogging again so I can go back to my journalistic instincts and grow back into a format that worked out so well in the beginning. I plan to go back to my roots, review old cameras that felt inspiring, talk about my travels from the past decade. I hope you all can help me create a community to share my thoughts and visuals.
